I love using vision boards around my home! For years I had a vision board that I displayed in my kitchen. However, you had to be in the kitchen to view it. Even then, it wasn’t in an area of the kitchen where I would stand in front of it each day.
Now that we’re on the boat I’ve gotten creative when it comes to incorporating visual motivation into my surroundings. I use my phone, computer desktop, but my favorite is through an index card.
Here is how I created a vision board that works with a DIY index card:
- I’m making my vision board on Canva first using items I really want that I intentionally find exact images of. I setup a 3×5 blank template you can get started with here.
- I’m printing it out to be the size of a 3×5. The size is so accessible, transportable, and flexible. For me- I use an index card deck in place of a planner. So, I touch the vision board every day.
Check out my Youtube Channel, Time & Tide Plans if you’re interested in finding out more about using a card deck to manage your to list. - Here is the secret key to making an effective vision board. Don’t put anything on it that will contradict another item. If you discover an inconsistency later, the nice thing about Canva is that you can go back in and change up the images as you feel it out. No need to make it perfect the first go around.
- Make it attractive. The Pro Canva version allows you to remove the background on images. However, you don’t need a paid account to make a simple collage.
- Add in affirmative sayings and reminders to your vision board that are believable and positive for you.
- Download, print and cut – consider making multiple copies of your vision board to keep in your wallet, use as bookmarks, store in your makeup bag, purse, gym bag, place near your coffee, etc.
